Job summary

OrthoArkansas is seeking a Charge Entry Specialist to support accurate and timely billing by entering office, imaging, and other charges into patient accounts. The role ensures charges are complete, documents are organized, and front-end denials are addressed to protect reimbursement.

You will work with providers and coding staff to implement orthopedic billing knowledge while maintaining confidentiality and meeting turnaround expectations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 7 to 11 months of related experience and/or training.
• Knowledge of orthopedic procedures, diagnoses, and procedure codes required.
• Experience with medical terminology and healthcare billing processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enter all clinic charges for assigned providers accurately and timely.
• Enter MRI & CT charges from specified locations and review for accuracy.
• Review charges for completeness and accuracy before submission.
• Maintain a 95% accuracy rate with three-day turnaround when docs are available.
• Provide physicians with documentation of charges daily.
• Assist coding staff by creating new patient charts and obtaining records.
• Apply orthopedic terminology and codes when reviewing charges.
• Maintain organized charge entry documentation and HIPAA compliance.
