Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• No prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with application and removal of basic casts, splints, and braces for orthopedic patients and support clinical staff with routine patient care tasks.
• Help ensure positive patient and family experience by communicating clearly and providing basic instructions on cast or splint care.
• Interdepartmental duties: assist during emergency room visits and in OR casting; comply with sterile precautions during procedures.
• Maintain casting-area inventory, coordinate discrepancies, and ensure proper charge capture (Pyxis) and safety checks.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA/JCAHO and other regulatory requirements and assist with process improvements.
• Support patient- and family-centered care through shared decision-making and education.
