Job summary

St. Tammany Health System in Covington, LA is seeking an Orthopedic Casting Technician to join our outpatient orthopedic team. You will apply and remove casts and splints for patients from newborns to geriatrics under physician guidance.

The role supports orthopedic physicians in an outpatient setting, may assist with procedures such as wound care, aspirations, minor surgery, and fracture reductions. You will work independently with professional supervision and maintain high standards of care.

Qualifications

• Must have strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
• Must have good working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 Coding.
• Must be able to maintain composure under difficult and stressful conditions.
• Must be able to maintain confidentiality and practice discretion.

Responsibilities

• Apply and remove casts and splints in an outpatient orthopedic setting.
• Assist with orthopedic procedures, including wound care, aspirations, minor surgical procedures and fracture reductions.
• Work independently under the supervision of a physician and be evaluated by correction of orthopedic problems.
