Spire Orthopedic Partners in Lowell, MA is seeking an experienced Orthopedic Technician to join our cast room team. The role involves applying and adjusting casts, assisting with splints, wound care, and patient mobility training on days, with a high school diploma and 1 year of cast room experience required.

Qualifications

• Orthopedic Technician and/or ATC Certification preferred.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year cast room / medical office experience.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organized with the ability to prioritize and multi-task.
• Reliable with patience and professionalism.
• Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Applies, removes, and adjusts casts and splints per orders.
• Assists with prefabricated splints and braces adjustments.
• Assesses patient comfort related to casting; notifies staff as needed.
• Removes sutures and staples.
• Provides wound care and incisional dressings.
• Assists with closed reduction of fractures.
• Fits and trains patients to use axillary crutches and canes.
• Educates patients on care of casts, splints, braces, and mobility aids.
• Maintains cast room inventory and places supply orders.
• Helps train new staff in cast room procedures.
