Job summary

UTHealth Houston seeks a licensed Athletic Trainer to support a busy orthopedic practice in Houston, Texas. This role requires strong communication skills, orthopedic knowledge, and the ability to assist with clinic flow and patient education.

Qualifications

  • Licensed Athletic Trainer by Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) by American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Licensed Athletic Trainer.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts patient post‑operative appointments and performs post‑operative procedures.
  • Educates patients on surgical procedures and uses of Durable Medical Equipment.
  • Liaison with Physical Therapy providers for patient care.

Skills

Excellent communication skills
Proficient in PowerPoint and Microsoft Office
Orthopedic clinical knowledge

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology, athletic training or related field
