Job summary

Temple University Health System is seeking an Athletic Trainer/Physician Extender for the Outpatient Orthopedics Temple Faculty Practice in Philadelphia. You will assist physicians, other athletic trainers, orthopedic surgeons and APPs, guiding patients from arrival to departure and preparing charts for visits.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Athletic Training (master’s preferred), 2 years of orthopedic experience, and certifications (ATC, PA AT, BLS).

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from an accredited program is required.
• Master’s Degree in Athletic Training is preferred.
• 2 years of orthopedic experience in a healthcare setting required.
• Certified Athletic Trainer required; PA Athletic Trainer required; Basic Life Support required.

Responsibilities

• Assists physicians, other athletic trainers, orthopedic surgeons, APPs and supportive staff with patient care in the Orthopedic Surgery outpatient offices and clinics.
• Follows patient from arrival to departure.
• Ensures patient and physician needs are met to support patient experience.
• Prepares charts for visits, testing approvals.
• Assists in procedure/surgery scheduling, contributes to clinical regulatory readiness, inventory/stocking, and patient phone call responses.
