CommonSpirit Health in Prescott, AZ is seeking an Orthopedic Advanced Practitioner to deliver outpatient orthopedic care that helps patients regain mobility and reduce pain within a caring community. The role includes diagnosing and treating orthopedic conditions, managing clinics, performing inpatient rounds, and assisting in surgeries such as total knee, total hip, shoulder, and other procedures.

A 4x10 hour week, 2-year salary guarantee with RVU-based pay, sign-on bonus, full benefits, CME

Qualifications

  • Degree as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner.
  • Active license in Arizona (PA/NP) and related certifications.
  • Minimum 3 years Orthopedic First Assist experience; CAQ/credentialing as required.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As ourOrthopedic Advanced Practitioner, you will empower Prescott residents, delivering exceptional outpatient orthopedic care so they can regain mobility, reduce pain, and achieve optimal musculoskeletal health. This crucial role directly supports our mission to provide high-quality, patient-centered healthcare within a thriving community.

In this dynamic role, you will:

  • Diagnose and treat a wide range of orthopedic conditions.
  • You will be expected to expertly manage patient clinics, perform inpatient rounding, and potentially assist in various orthopedic surgeries including total knee, total hip, shoulder, ORIF's, trigger finger releases, and toe amputations.
  • This position offers a rewarding 4x10 hour work week.
  • First Assist as required.

To be successful in this role, you must possess a strong clinical background as an Orthopedic Advanced Practitioner, demonstrated proficiency in outpatient orthopedic management, and the ability to seamlessly transition between clinic, hospital rounds, and surgical assistance. Ideal candidates will have experience with the listed procedures and a commitment to collaborative, patient-focused care.

We are offering a competitive 2 year salary guarantee then RVU-based, a sign-on bonus, full benefits, CME allowance, Malpractice with tail coverage, and relocation assistance for eligible candidates. We also offer a retirement plan with employer match. Qualified candidates may also be eligible for student loan repayment.

Job Requirements
Required
PA
  • Degree as a Physician Assistant
  • Active or eligible license in the state of Arizona
  • Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Minimum 3 years Orthopedic First Assist PA experience, preferably in an acute setting.
  • Must hold and maintain: a.) AZ Regulatory Board of Physician Assistants License, b.) NCCPA - National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistant
  • Valid DEA registration
  • Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff
NP
  • Master's Degree in nursing. Graduate of accredited program for nurse practitioners
  • Active or eligible license in the state of Arizona
  • Compact state or Arizona RN license
  • RNFA Certification is a must.
  • Surgical First Assist certification
  • Minimum of 3 years Orthopedic First Assist NP experience, preferably in an acute setting.
  • Must hold and maintain National Certificate as a nurse practitioner in area of specialty under AZ regulations: a.) NP-AACN, b.) NP-AANP, c.) NP-ANCC, or d). NP-PNCB
  • Valid DEA registration
  • Must meet credentialing criteria for medical staff
