Job summary

OrthoArizona, a leading orthopedic practice, invites a Physician Assistant to join our InstantOrtho clinic. This role focuses on walk-in orthopedic cases and offers the opportunity to work autonomously in a fast-paced clinic setting.

The PA will collaborate with physicians, manage patient histories and exams, prescribe appropriate treatments, and provide education and follow-up care to patients in a dynamic, comprehensive care environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
• Hold an active Arizona state license to practice as a PA.
• Maintain CPR certification as required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a patient treatment schedule in collaboration with the physician.
• Obtain complete medical history and physical data from patients.
• Review patient records and interpret data to determine diagnostic/therapeutic steps.
• Perform physical exams and document findings.
• Order laboratory and diagnostic procedures as needed.
• Administer injections and medications.
• Provide patient education on health, medications, and prevention.
• Assist physicians and document patient progress.

This position will be based out of our InstantOrtho clinic. Focusing on walk in orthopedic cases. This is a great opportunity to work autonomously in a fast pace, clinic based role.

As a Physician Assistant with OrthoArizona, you will get to:

• Maintain a patient treatment schedule consistent with the needs of the Physician.
• Obtain complete medical history and physical data on patients.
• Review patient medical records.
• Interpret and integrate data to determine appropriate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures as needed.
• Perform complete physical exam and records findings.
• Establish presumptive diagnosis.
• Order appropriate lab and diagnostic procedures.
• Administer injections and medications.
• Advise patients regarding health and illness prevention.
• Recommend community resources to help patient and family needs.
• Instruct patient and family regarding medication and treatment procedures.
• Assist physicians in recording patient progress.
• Issue diagnostic orders.
• Triage patient phone calls.
• Provide monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits.
• Provide on call services on assigned basis.
• Prioritize work activities based on clinical demands.
• All other duties assigned.

Qualifications:

• Working knowledge of computer programs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Complete and maintain HCP training.
• Understand/Perform training on practice management software.
• Continue to expand knowledge of practice management software as updates occur.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduation from accredited Physician Assistant Program.
• Certification from the National Commission on certification of Physician Assistants.
• Maintain Arizona State License.
• Maintain CPR certification.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2 years of Physician Assistant experience in a busy orthopedic practice.
