Job summary

Illinois Bone and Joint Institute, LLC seeks a Medical Assistant to support outpatient clinic operations. You will handle administrative and clinical tasks, assist physicians in examinations, manage referrals, and coordinate patient flow with an emphasis on quality patient care and efficient service.

The role requires CMA certification (AAMA preferred) and CPR, with orthopedic clinic experience preferred. Strong EHR and office software skills are essential for success in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program (CMA) preferred.
• CMA (AAMA), RMA, CCMA, or NCMA preferred; CPR certification.
• Experience in an orthopedic healthcare setting preferred.
• Proficient with practice management and EHR systems.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to exam rooms on a timely basis and informs team of delays.
• Prepares patients for examination and radiologic studies as necessary.
• Assists physicians during the patient examination process.
• Coordinates referrals for therapy, home health, procedures, etc.
• Assists in scheduling of appointments and managing patient flow.
• Maintains infection control and cleans exam rooms and equipment.
• Performs charting, documentation and patient communications as needed.
