Job summary

Florida Orthopaedic Institute is seeking an Administrative Medical Assistant - Float to support physicians and patient services across clinic locations in the Tampa Bay area.

The role requires completing medical assisting education, at least 2 years of MA experience, and proficiency with Excel and Word. Flexibility to travel and extended hours is required to meet patient and clinic needs at multiple locations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Completed Medical Assisting School or received a Medical Assistant Certificate.
• Minimum 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Must be willing to travel to all clinic locations in the Tampa Bay area.
• Must be able to work extended hours to cover clinics as needed.
• Must have suture/staple removal experience.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for performing secretarial duties for physician, which includes knowledge of medical terminology, and hospital and clinic procedures.
• Opening and distribution of mail for Physician.
• Maintaining Physicians schedule.
• Entering all calls in Filemaker.
• Scheduling of appointments, depositions, conferences, etc.
• Scheduling patient surgeries, pre and post operative appointments, and preparing paperwork.
• Scheduling all surgeries in Filemaker.
• Liaison between Physician and Hospital.
• Liaison between Physician and patient.
• Triaging of patient calls.
• Facilitating patient interaction with other FOI departments.
• Completing Disability Forms for patients.
• Making travel arrangements for Physicians.
• Assure compliance with all company plans, policies and procedures set forth by the Florida Orthopaedic Institute
• All other duties as assigned.
