Job summary

Dartmouth Health’s Department of Orthopaedics is seeking a Physician Associate to join our academic medical center in Lebanon, NH and/or nearby satellite locations. The APP will see a broad range of orthopedic conditions, support pre and postoperative education, assist in the OR, and perform H&Ps with diagnostic workups.

• BLS certification is required.
• Current (or eligible) certification to practice as a PA or APRN in NH is required.
• Successful completion of an approved PA/APRN program is required.
• National specialty certification as RNFA or NCCPA certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Initiate diagnostic tests to evaluate the patient’s condition.
• Assess history, exam findings, and review of systems.
• Develop and manage therapeutic regimens with Orthopedists.
• Perform complete history and physical examinations.
• Provide pre/postoperative education and ongoing support to Orthopaedic patients.
• Promote teamwork and patient-centered care.

Job description

Dartmouth Health's Department of Orthopaedics is currently seeking an Physician Associate to work at our academic medical center in Lebanon, NH and/or associated local satellite locations. This APP will work within the clinic seeing the full breadth of Orthopaedic conditions, assisting with pre and postoperative education and ongoing support, first-assisting in the OR, performing history and physical examinations, and initiating appropriate diagnostic tests to evaluate the patient's condition. Opportunities to subspecialize will be determined based on candidate's interests and experience.

This is a full-time position, no overnight or weekend responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Initiate appropriate diagnostic tests to evaluate the patient's condition

• Assess the findings and history, review of systems, physical examination and diagnostic tests

• Develop implements and manages therapeutic treatment regimens in collaboration with our Orthopedists

• Perform complete history and physical examinations

• Provide pre and postoperative education and ongoing support to Orthopaedic patients

• Promote teamwork and patient centered care

Requirements:

• BLS certification

• Current (or eligible) certification to practice as a PA or APRN in NH

• Successful completion of an approved PA/APRN program

• National specialty certification as RNFA or certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
