Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, NH, seeks an Orthopaedic Advanced Practice Provider (PA or NP) to care for a broad range of orthopaedic conditions, assist in the OR, and educate patients before and after surgery. The position is full‑time at DHMC with regional satellite opportunities.

The role emphasizes history-taking, exams, diagnostic testing, and collaboration with Orthopaedic surgeons, with opportunities for subspecialization based on interests and experience.

Qualifications

  • BLS certification required.
  • Current NH PA or APRN licensure or eligibility.
  • Completion of an accredited PA/APRN program.
  • National specialty certification as RNFA or NCCPA.

Responsibilities

  • Initiate diagnostic tests to evaluate the patient's condition.
  • Perform history and physical examinations and diagnostic testing.
  • Develop and manage therapeutic regimens with orthopedists.
  • Provide pre- and postoperative education and ongoing support to Orthopaedic patients.
  • First‑assist in the OR where applicable.

Orthopaedic Advanced Practice Provider

Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center – Lebanon, NH

Dartmouth Health’s Department of Orthopaedics is currently seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (Physician Associate or Nurse Practitioner) to work at our academic medical center in Lebanon, NH and/or associated local satellite locations. This APP will work within the clinic seeing the full breadth of Orthopaedic conditions, assisting with pre and postoperative education and ongoing support, first‑assisting in the OR, performing history and physical examinations, and initiating appropriate diagnostic tests to evaluate the patient's condition. Opportunities to subspecialize will be determined based on candidate’s interests and experience.

This is a full‑timeposition, no overnight or weekend responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Initiate appropriate diagnostic tests to evaluate the patient's condition
  • Assess the findings and history, review of systems, physical examination and diagnostic tests
  • Develop implements and manages therapeutic treatment regimens in collaboration withourOrthopedists
  • Perform complete history and physical examinations
  • Provide pre and postoperative education and ongoing support to Orthopaedic patients
  • Promote teamwork and patient centered care
Requirements:
  • BLS certification
  • Current (or eligible) certification to practice as a PA or APRN in NH
  • Successful completion of an approved PA/APRN program
  • National specialty certification as RNFA or certification through the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
