Job summary

UNC Health is seeking an Orthopaedic Cast Technologist II to join the Ambulatory Surgical Center team in Chapel Hill. You will fit, educate, and manage DME devices for orthopaedic patients, while ensuring proper documentation, inventory control, and payer-compliant billing.

The role includes coordinating with clinicians, managing DME inventories in Vision, and maintaining safety and infection control standards in a clinical setting on a day schedule.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or GED.
• Licensure/Certification: BLS required; if five years of orthopaedics experience, no licensure required.
• Experience: NBCOT Orthopaedic Technologist Certification or Pedorthist Certification, LPN or EMT: 2 years in Orthopaedics.
• No NBCOT/Equivalent: 5 years in Orthopaedics with vital signs and basic terminology.

Responsibilities

• Durable Medical Equipment (DME) coordination to run clinic efficiently.
• Fit and educate patients on orthopedic devices per provider orders.
• Build relationships with patients, providers, staff, vendors and suppliers.
• Review inventory levels, order stock, and manage inventory in Vision DME software.
