Job summary

YMCA of Greater Indianapolis is seeking a Lifeguard to ensure a safe environment around the pool. Under the Aquatic Coordinator, you will monitor swimmers, enforce pool rules, and respond to emergencies using CPR and First Aid.

Applicants must be 16 or older and hold a current Lifeguard certificate (YMCA ARC or Ellis), including First Aid and CPR Healthcare Provider. You must pass the 500-yard test and be able to relate to people of all ages and abilities.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 16 years of age.
• Must possess and maintain current Lifeguard certificates (YMCA ARC or Ellis) with First Aid and CPR.
• Must pass basic lifeguard skills test including 500-yard swim.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe environment for all participants in and around the pool.
• Respond to emergencies and administer CPR and First Aid according to guidelines.
• Relate to and communicate with people of all ages, cultures and abilities.
