Job summary

Great Expressions Dental Centers is hiring a Dental Assistant to join our dynamic team. Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm, you will support orthodontic and general dentistry workflows, prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and educate patients on oral hygiene.

Candidates with orthodontic experience are preferred, and training is available for pediatric dentistry as well. We value organization, communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Orthodontic Dental Assistant experience is required.
• Pediatric Dental Assistant experience is preferred but training is offered.
• Previous dental assisting experience or relevant education is preferred, but we’re willing to train the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Assist the dental team in providing exceptional patient care.
• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and keep environments clean and organized.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
• Support dentists during procedures and ensure smooth workflow.

What We’re Looking For

Please note: While we are willing to train on the pediatric side, candidates must have prior orthodontic dental assisting experience.

• Orthodontic Dental Assistant experience is required.
• Pediatric Dental Assistant experience is preferred but not required - we are happy to provide training.

Responsibilities

• Assist our experienced dental team in providing exceptional patient care
• Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and ensure a clean and organized environment
• Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and post-treatment care
• Support dentists during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring smooth workflow
• Perform basic dental procedures under the guidance of a licensed dentist
• Manage appointment scheduling and maintain patient records accurately

Qualifications

• Previous dental assisting experience or relevant education is preferred, but we're willing to train the right candidate.
• Excellent organizational skills with a keen eye for detail
• Strong communication skills and a friendly, compassionate demeanor
• Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in dental software and technology is a plus

Requirements

Before applying, it is imperative that you meet the state requirements outlined below.

• Connecticut: certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays.
• Florida: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays (including FDOH Permit to expose X-rays).
• Georgia: CPR Certification, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification, and proof of formal training to expose X-rays.
• Massachusetts: CPR Certification, proof of formal training to expose X-rays, BORID certification and annual CE requirements must be completed per state regulations.
• Michigan: Upon hiring, you are required to furnish evidence of X-ray training certification. If you do not possess certification at the time of hiring, you are granted an 8-week period to submit it.
• New Jersey: Proof of X-ray training.
• New York: Not applicable.
• Ohio: Proof of formal training to expose X-rays (including FDOH Permit to Expose X-rays)
• Texas: CPR Certification, TSBDE: TX State Board of Dental Examiners.
