Job summary

Livermore Smiles Dentistry and Orthodontics in Livermore, CA seeks a Dental Assistant to support clinicians and ensure a Perfect Patient Experience. You’ll assist with exams, radiographs, trays, and infection control while coordinating with front and back office teams.

The role emphasizes patient care, teamwork, and adherence to state regulations. A valid driver’s license and travel to multiple offices may be required.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to high school diploma or GED and state-m mandated certification/training.
• Certificates/Licenses/Registrations as mandated by state.
• Specialty dental assistants must have valid driver's license and auto insurance and travel to multiple offices.
• One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school; or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform duties per state's Dental Auxiliaries Table of Permitted Duties.
• Support PPE by keeping patients focused and addressing needs.
• Escort patients to front desk and introduce them to team members.
• Coordinate with front/back office to keep orthodontist schedules running smoothly.
• Maintain a clean, sterile operatory and follow infection control guidelines.
• Prepare patients for treatment and assist the dentist to deliver efficient care.
• Complete radiographs and intra-oral pictures as directed by the clinician.
• Prepare tray setups and manage supplies in each operatory.
• Keep mouths dry with suction and assist in patient comfort.
• Instruct patients on postoperative and oral health care.
