Job summary

Salt Dental Partners is seeking a licensed orthodontic dental assistant to support the lead orthodontist. You will record medical histories, take X-rays, and prepare treatment rooms, ensuring a safe and efficient workflow.

Your role includes patient education, appliance placement/removal, and meticulous documentation in Epic to support care coordination within a fast-paced orthodontic team.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of orthodontic experience and hands-on skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent; an accredited dental assisting program is a plus.
• Current Registered Dental Assistant license is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist the top orthodontist during procedures.
• Record and update patient medical histories.
• Take and develop x-rays and photographs for treatment planning.
• Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments.
• Support placement and removal of orthodontic appliances.
• Educate patients on oral hygiene and appliance care.
• Maintain accurate medical records and coding using Epic.
• Collaborate with the team to deliver exceptional patient service.
