Job summary

Ideal Dental is seeking an Orthodontic Dental Assistant to support patients and the clinical team through the orthodontic treatment journey. You will gain training, tools, and growth opportunities in a collaborative, patient-focused environment.

You will work alongside orthodontists, create a welcoming setting, manage patient flow, and help ensure accurate records and smooth clinical operations for long-term oral health.

Qualifications

• Active Registered Dental Assistant License.
• Current CPR certification.
• Minimum of 1 year of orthodontic experience.
• Must be willing to travel within assigned areas.

Responsibilities

• Greeting guests with a smile.
• Assisting Orthodontist with procedures.
• Untying and tying arch-wires.
• Bending and placing arch-wires.
• Fitting bands.
• Preparing for and assisting with bonding.
• Taking impressions.
• Taking x-rays and developing x-rays.
• Taking intraoral and extraoral photographs.
• Sterilizing instruments.
• Pouring up models.
• Inventorying supplies.

What you'll do:

• Create a welcoming environment for patients, helping them feel comfortable and confident throughout their orthodontic journey.


• Support patients through complex orthodontic procedures, helping them feel informed, calm, and confident throughout their treatment experience.


• Work alongside the Orthodontist to ensure precision, efficiency, and a smooth clinical experience tailored to each patient’s needs.


• Educate patients on post-treatment care and recovery to promote healing and long-term oral health.


• Coordinate care and follow-ups, ensuring patients receive timely treatment and clear communication throughout their visit.


• Maintain detailed and accurate records to support clinical decision-making and continuity of care.


• Foster a collaborative team environment by staying proactive, adaptable, and committed to delivering high-quality specialty care.


• Contribute to the success of orthodontic practice by helping manage clinical readiness, patient flow, and operational support.
