Job summary

Dental Associates is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our orthodontics team in Wisconsin. Full-time and part-time opportunities with reliable hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred: experience as Dental Assistant or completion of accredited program.

Responsibilities

• Assist provider through exams, treatments, and operatory care.
• Explain procedures and seek patient understanding.
• Review and update iPad medical history with patients.
• Assist with patient education and record-keeping.

Full-time and part-time opportunities available. Candidates working a full-time schedule must be able to travel to the Sturtevant Clinic (10155 Washington Ave, Sturtevant, WI 53177) on Thursdays.

Schedules

Part-Time Schedule: Monday/Wednesday: 7:00am-4:00pm, Tuesday: 9:00am-6:00pm, Thursday: Off, Friday: 7:00am-1:00pm, and Saturday: Off

Full-Time Schedule: Monday/Wednesday: 7:00am-4:00pm, Tuesday/Thursday: 9:00am-6:00pm, Friday: 7:00am-1:00pm, and Saturday: Off

Job Responsibilities

• Assist provider throughout exam including complex treatment, surgery, & all operatory-related care
• Explain treatment procedures; seek clarification and understanding from patient
• Review and assist patient in updating iPad medical history
• Assist provider with patient education
• Take patient blood pressure, X-rays and radiographs
• Monitor oxygen levels when nitrous or IV is administered
• Make impressions and fabricate crowns as instructed
• Prepare and record clinical notes, charting and patient record
• Prepare operatory for patient exam; sterilize instruments and disinfect operatory
• Provide coverage for Dental Services Representatives to account for absences or high-volume periods

Job Requirements

• Previous Dental Assistant experience or completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Knowledge of state dental practices requirements, including X-ray proficiency and OSHA training strongly preferred
• Effective interpersonal skills to maintain rapport with patients, dentists, and other staff members
• Good customer service skills and ability to work as a team in fast-paced environment
