Harmony Orthodontics in the Portland metro area seeks an Orthodontic Assistant (EFDA) to join a multi-site team rotating across Gresham, Sandy, and Camas. This full-time role requires EFDA and RHS; travel between local clinics is expected. Pay $25–$28 per hour DOE.

You will perform chairside EFDA care, take digital records, and assist families with care and comfort. The position emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and a friendly, child- and adult-focused approach.

Qualifications

• Active Oregon EFDA and RHS certifications required.
• 1–2 years of clinical orthodontic assisting preferred.
• Active BLS/CPR certification; Harmony funds recertification.
• Experience with digital charting and practice management software (Cloud9 is a big bonus).
• Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-care focus.
• Safety-sensitive role with pre-employment drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Provide EFDA-level chairside orthodontic assistance during procedures.
• Capture digital records: photographs, X-rays, impressions.
• Welcome and reassure patients and families; provide oral hygiene guidance.
• Travel between Gresham, Sandy, Tualatin, and Camas clinics as needed.

• Job Type: Full-Time (4 to 5 Days a week)

Multi-Site Community Footprint

This full-time position features a dynamic regional rotation between our beautifully appointed offices in Gresham, Sandy, and Camas, with coverage at our Tualatin location once a month. Reliable personal transportation and a strict willingness to travel between these local clinics is required to keep our daily practice family flowing seamlessly!

What We're Looking For (Qualifications & Key Search Terms)

• Experience: 1 to 2 years of clinical orthodontic assisting experience is highly preferred. We value candidates who understand bracket placement, wire sequences, and the pace of an ortho bay!
• Credentials: Active Oregon EFDA (Expanded Functions Dental Assistant) and RHS (Radiology Health and Safety) certifications are required.
• Certifications: Active BLS/CPR Certification (Harmony will fully fund and cover all of your regular recertification fees!).
• Technical Software Skills: Strong working knowledge of digital charting and dental practice management software (experience with Cloud9 is a massive competitive bonus!).
• Soft Skills: A collaborative, team-first spirit, exceptional communication skills, sharp attention to clinical detail, and a genuine love for helping kids and adults feel comfortable.
• Safety & Compliance: This is a safety-sensitive clinical role. Successful completion of a routine pre-employment drug screening is required. We strictly follow all CDC, OSHA, and ADA guidelines to keep our team protected.

What You'll Do (Responsibilities)

• Orthodontic Chairside Assisting: Provide high-quality clinical support and EFDA-level care during routine wire adjustments, bondings, appliance deliveries, and debonding appointments.
• Digital Diagnostics: Take accurate orthodontic diagnostic records, including high-resolution digital intraoral photographs, X-rays, and computer-guided impressions.
• Patient & Parent Concierge: Welcome families, ease treatment anxieties with high-energy positivity, give clear oral hygiene instructions, and celebrate milestone "braces-off" moments!
• Multi-Site Synergy: Maintain an adaptable, upbeat attitude while traveling to support our operations across our Gresham, Sandy, Tualatin, and Camas clinic tracks.
