Your Role as an Orthodontic Assistant

You’ll play a key role in creating positive patient experiences and ensuring treatment stays on track. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming & Preparing Patients – Make patients feel comfortable, assist with seating, and build positive relationships with families.
  • Providing Clinical Support – Assist the orthodontist with procedures, clean/disinfect operatories, sterilize instruments, and take x-rays, photos, impressions, and intraoral scans.
  • Patient Education – Provide clear instructions and progress updates to patients and parents/guardians.
  • Practice Growth – Help maintain treatment schedules and ensure a seamless patient experience.
  • Professional Communication – Maintain accurate patient records and generate correspondence for referring dentists.

  • Orthodontic Assistant (preferred) or Registered Dental Assistant
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a dental setting
  • Experience with orthodontic/dental software is a plus but not required
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to build rapport with patients and team members
  • Strong time management and attention to detail
