Job summary

Birmingham Orthodontics in Hoover, AL is seeking a skilled Orthodontic Assistant to support our orthodontists and help deliver exceptional, comfortable care to patients.

You will prepare operatories, sterilize equipment, and assist during exams and treatments while educating patients on treatment plans and appliance care. You’ll join a supportive team that values collaboration and patient-focused excellence.

Qualifications

• Experience in dental or orthodontic assisting.
• Familiarity with orthodontic appliances, procedures, and terminology.
• Ability to educate patients on treatment plans and appliance care.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Orthodontist during exams and treatments, ensuring patients are comfortable and procedures run smoothly.
• Prepare operatories, sterilize equipment, and support clinical workflows to maximize efficiency.
• Perform orthodontic procedures such as placing/removing wires, coil springs, bands, and retainers under direct supervision.
• Record treatment notes accurately and collaborate with the team to deliver outstanding care throughout the patient’s journey.
