Job summary

Smile Straight Orthodontics in Wilmington, part of Kids Dental Brands, is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant to support treatment from start to finish and create a welcoming patient experience.

You will work closely with the orthodontist, perform molds, adjust braces, take X-rays, and educate patients on oral care. Requires CPR/BLS and relevant certifications; Delaware-based pediatric dental care with a supportive, growth-oriented team.

Qualifications

• Current CPR/BLS Certification is required.
• North Carolina Radiation Certification or DANB Radiation Certification preferred.
• DA Certificate (CDA, DA I, or DA II) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work chair-side with Orthodontist, perform patient care, and general laboratory duties.
• Preparing and taking patient molds.
• Changing out rubber bands, wires, and brackets.
• Adjusting fit of clear aligners such as Invisalign.
• Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Teach patients oral hygiene strategies (brushing, flossing, nutrition counseling).
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment.
• Provide patients with post-treatment oral care instructions.

What You’ll Do

• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures
