Orthodontic Assistant - West Chester Area (Chester Springs, Kennett Square, and West Chester, PA)

We are a growing Dental Support Organization (DSO) committed to supporting high-quality dental care across dozens of partner locations nationwide. Our mission is to empower providers, enhance patient smiles and health, and create meaningful, lasting connections in the communities we serve.
We are currently seeking a personable and motivated Orthodontic Assistant to support our practices located in West Chester, Chester Springs, and Kennett Square, PA. This is a rewarding opportunity to join a collaborative team that values positivity, communication, and professional growth. Our team rotates between these locations, so flexibility to travel between offices is required.
What You'll Do
- Assist orthodontists chairside during patient care.
- Prepare, set up, and break down operatories.
- Greet and escort patients; take digital radiographs (X-rays, panoramic, ceph).
- Maintain sterilization protocols and equipment in line with OSHA, state, and federal guidelines.
- Manage lab tasks: take impressions, pour/trim models, store and track retainers/appliances.
- Support front desk duties: schedule appointments, verify patient information, and communicate treatment plans.
- Provide clear patient and parent education on oral hygiene, rubber band usage, progress, etc.
- Coordinate communications with general dentists.
- Manage orthodontic supplies inventory.
Basic Qualifications
- 2-5 years of experience in orthodontic or dental assisting.
- Vocational/technical training or Associate's degree preferred.
- Valid DPH Dental Assistant License and Radiology Certification (required).
- Familiarity with dental software, Microsoft Word, and email tools.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs with or without accommodation.
- Willingness to travel between our three offices.
Preferred Experience
- Taking orthodontic records (X-rays, intra/extraoral photos, impressions).
- Archwire bending and placement, bracket/band removal, fitting headgear.
- Fabrication of retainers and taking impressions for Invisalign.
- Confident in case presentation and parent/patient consultation.
- Comfort treating patients with special healthcare needs or developmental disabilities.
- Strong infection control knowledge and excellent chairside manner.
