Responsibilities

1. Transport patients to and from treatment areas as scheduled.
2. Prepare patients for treatment.
3. Assist with and/or provide treatment as directed by therapists.
4. Transport clients in the company van for community activities as needed.
5. Support therapists and assistants with clerical and patient-related duties, including computerized activities.
6. Maintain cleanliness of treatment areas and department.
7. Ensure adequate stock of supplies and equipment.
8. Record daily treatment charges and documentation according to billing and documentation guidelines.
9. Coordinate activities with other departments and staff within the rehabilitation department.
10. Participate in department and facility meetings.
11. Engage in Facility Performance Improvement programs.
12. Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA, Business Ethics, and Compliance standards.
13. Present a professional appearance, be reliable and punctual, and conduct oneself according to professional standards.
14. Attend and participate in staff development programs.
15. Report safety concerns immediately.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or GED.
2. At least six months of prior work or volunteer experience providing individual instructions in a healthcare setting is preferred.
3. Experience in patient care in a rehabilitation center is preferred; therapy students are considered.
4. Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
5. Ability to work with disabled, ill, elderly, emotionally upset, and sometimes hostile individuals.
6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
7. Valid driver’s license and current auto liability insurance.
8. Motor vehicle driver record within acceptable standards.
9. Minimum two years of driving experience.
