PERFECT SMILES ORTHODONTICS PC is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant in New York, NY. In this role, you will assist the orthodontist with procedures, manage patient records, and ensure excellent patient care. Candidates should have a high school diploma, certification as a dental assistant preferred, and previous orthodontic experience. Qualifications

  • Previous experience as an orthodontic assistant or in a dental setting of one year or more.
  • Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and terminology.
  • Current CPR certification is required.

About the Role

Join our dynamic team at PERFECT SMILES ORTHODONTICS PC as an Orthodontic Assistant, where your skills will help create beautiful smiles! We are looking for a passionate individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to support our orthodontic team in delivering exceptional patient care.


Responsibilities


  • Assist the orthodontist during procedures and patient examinations.

  • Prepare and sterilize dental instruments and equipment to ensure a safe environment.

  • Take radiographs (X-rays) as needed.

  • Take orthodontic records: photograph, scan, PAN, CephL.

  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene and post-treatment care.

  • Manage patient records and scheduling to maintain efficient office operations.

  • Provide excellent customer service to ensure a positive patient experience.

  • Monitor and document patient progress throughout treatment.

  • Collaborate with team members to enhance patient care and office workflow.

  • Participate in Social Media efforts.

  • Participate in business development.

  • Be available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays from 8:45 AM to 7 PM and one Saturday per month from 8:45 AM to 2 PM.


Requirements


  • High school diploma or equivalent; dental assistant certification preferred.

  • Previous experience as an orthodontic assistant or in a dental setting of one year or more.

  • Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and terminology.

  • Strong communication skills and a friendly demeanor.

  • Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks.

  • Basic computer skills for patient record management.

  • Current CPR certification is required.

  • Attention to detail and a commitment to patient care.
