Role Description

The Orthodontic Assistant role at SALT Dental Partners is a full-time, on-site position based in Dublin, OH. In this role, the Orthodontic Assistant supports orthodontists chairside by preparing treatment rooms, organizing instruments, and assisting with procedures such as placing and removing archwires, brackets, and bands under appropriate supervision. The role includes taking dental impressions, digital scans, x-rays, and photographs, as well as educating patients and caregivers on oral hygiene, appliances, and treatment progress. The Orthodontic Assistant is also responsible for maintaining infection control standards, documenting patient information in practice systems, and coordinating with front desk teams to support scheduling and smooth patient flow. This position contributes to a friendly, patient-centered environment and works closely with the clinical team to ensure high-quality orthodontic care.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated clinical skills in chairside assisting, taking impressions or digital scans, and basic orthodontic procedures under supervision.


• Knowledge of dental terminology, orthodontic appliances, and standard infection control and sterilization protocols.

• High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a dental assisting program or relevant certification is preferred.


• State-specific dental assistant or radiography certifications, if required in Ohio, or willingness to obtain them within required timeframes.


• Ability to work on-site full time in Dublin, OH, including standing for extended periods and performing hands-on clinical tasks.
