Job summary

Kids Dental Brands is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant for our Triad Orthodontics office in Danville, VA. You will support the orthodontist chair-side, handle patient care, and help with molds, aligners, and lab tasks.

A caring, patient-focused approach is essential to help children and teens feel welcome during visits. The role includes preparing instruments, taking radiographs, sterilizing equipment, and educating patients on oral hygiene.

Qualifications

• Current CPR/BLS Certification is required.
• Virginia Radiation Certification or DANB Radiation Certification preferred.
• DA Certificate (CDA, DA I, or DA II) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Chair-side support with Orthodontist and patient care.
• Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays).
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment.
• Assist with treatment setup and postoperative instructions.

What You’ll Do

• Work chair-side with Orthodontist, perform patient care, and general laboratory duties
• Preparing and taking patient molds
• Changing out rubber bands, wires, and brackets
• Adjusting fit of clear aligners such as Invisalign
• Take and process dental radiographs (x-rays)
• Prepare and sterilize instruments and equipment
• Teach patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing, and nutritional counseling)
• Help patients feel comfortable before, during, and after dental treatment
• Provide patients with instructions for oral care following surgery or other dental treatment procedures

Position Requirements

$18 - $18 an hour
