Job summary

Atrium Health in Charlotte, NC seeks an Advanced Practice Provider to join its Orthopedic and Musculoskeletal team. The role involves orthopedic urgent care with walk-in and scheduled visits, part-time scheduling with a flexible shift and no on-call burden, and collaboration with supervising surgeons.

The ideal candidate is a Physician Assistant with PA program graduation, a DEA license, and NCCPA certification (or eligibility).

Qualifications

• Must have or be eligible for a DEA license.
• Approved to practice as a Physician Assistant.
• Graduate from an accredited Physician Assistant program required; Master’s Degree preferred.
• Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred.
• BLS for Healthcare Provider from AHA required with expiration date greater than 90 days from date of beginning practice.
• Demonstrates appropriate critical thinking, interpersonal skills, and the ability to prioritize and make proactive decisions.
• Three years of relative experience and/or surgical background preferred.

Responsibilities

• Orth orthopedic Urgent Care: walk-in and scheduled visits.
• Part time: rotating APP orthopedic practice; flexible schedule, no call burden.
• Participate in initial evaluation and treatment of ambulatory orthopedic urgent care consults with history, exams, orders and imaging review, and surgeon conferral.
• Perform splinting, bracing, casting, orthopedic injections/aspirations in outpatient settings.

Essential Functions

• Orthopedic Urgent Care- walk-in and scheduled visits
• Part time- Participate in the rotating APP orthopedic practice. Flexible schedule, no call burden.
• Participate in the initial evaluation & treatment ambulatory orthopedic urgent care consults: obtaining history, performing physical exams, ordering and reviewing appropriate diagnostic studies and imaging, and conferring with supervising orthopedic surgeon
• Perform splinting, bracing, casting, orthopedic injections/aspirations, in the out-patient clinic settings

Education, Experience, and Certifications
