Job summary

MedStar Health’s Washington Hospital Center is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide professional care from admission through discharge. The role collaborates with patients, families, and an interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based nursing care focused on safety and quality outcomes.

The position requires ADN with eligibility for BSN within 4 years, 1–2 years RN experience, and active state (or compact) RN licensure plus CPR certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Nursing from an accredited program is required.
• BSN preferred; if only ADN, must enroll in BSN within 12 months and complete within 4 years.
• RN licensure in state or compact license required; CPR certification within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care from admission through discharge.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to coordinate care delivery.
• Advocate for patients and families; communicate concerns timely to the team.
• Identify and address patient safety issues using quality and safety principles.
• Lead and delegate tasks to peers and ancillary staff within scope of practice.
