Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a Nursing Assistant to support the Ortho Trauma team. Under RN supervision, you will assist in delivering patient care according to care plans and hospital policies.

Responsibilities include helping with ambulation, transfers, hygiene, collecting data, and performing basic procedures like glucose checks. The role requires a high school diploma, specialized CNA-related training, and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Specialized education options listed include acute/long-term nursing assistant courses, EMT, medical assistant programs, or clinical rotation during nursing program.
• BLS certification for Healthcare Providers (or MTN equivalent) required or preferred.
• Direct patient care experience is preferred; if lacking specialized education, at least six months of nursing assistant experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide routine patient care such as assistance with mobility, positioning, hygiene, and safety.
• Collect, record, and report patient data and changes in condition.
• Perform skin preps, basic skin care, bedside glucose checks, and quality control of glucose instruments.
