Job summary

Memorial Hermann Rockets Orthopedic Hospital is hiring a Certified Surgical Tech to provide expert perioperative care as a scrub assistant for orthopedic procedures. The role requires a Surgical Technologist program graduate, or Texas LVN with internship, or equivalent on-the-job training, plus BLS certification.

Responsibilities include ensuring equipment readiness, aseptic technique, and mentoring less experienced staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Surgical Technologist Program; or Licensed as an LVN in the State of Texas who has completed an internship; or Completed on the job training program as a surgical technologist
• BLS (American Heart Assoc) required
• 5+ years of Orthopedic experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provides expert perioperative patient care using equipment and instrumentation.
• Acts as scrub assistant to the physician during operative and invasive procedures.
• Verifies availability and function of supplies/instruments prior to procedures; maintains aseptic technique.
• Serves as a preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
