Job summary

Yale NewHaven Health (YNHHS) is seeking a Patient Care Associate (CNA) to support patient care under the supervision of a Clinical Nurse. The role emphasizes accurate vital signs, assisting with treatments, and ensuring a safe, compassionate patient experience across care teams.

Responsibilities include recording vital signs, performing delegated tasks, assisting with ECGs, and communicating effectively with patients and families while adhering to PFCC principles and YNHHS service standards.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED and CNA or equivalent (e.g., Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy Technician, Student Nurse with clinicals).
• Two years of direct patient care experience preferred or education as stated; completion of competency-based training and practicum is required.

Responsibilities

• Under RN direction, collects and reports information to assist assessment, planning and evaluation of patient needs.
• Obtains and records vital signs as delegated by the RN.
• Assists with technical duties and treatments to support safe and efficient patient care.
• Covers the Business Associate desk in the absence of the BA under supervision.
