Job summary

HCA Florida Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, FL is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the 4 West Medical/Surgical Orthopedic Nursing Department. You will assess, plan, implement and coordinate treatment plans to achieve positive patient outcomes.

You will work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM) with rotating weekends and holidays, maintaining records, providing medications, and educating patients and families about care plans.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing (ADN or higher).
• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
• A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain overall accountability/responsibility for assigned patients.
• Manage efficient flow of patient care including screening, preparation for exam, providing general nursing care and comfort, and arranging for admissions, testing and discharges.
• Maintain and review patients’ records including posting tests and examination results.
• Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
• Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans.
• Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls (may include phone triage when needed).

Education

Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher

Current RN license in-state or Compact/Multi-State
