Job summary

United Surgical Partners International seeks a Surgical Scrub Tech per diem to support the operating room team. The role focuses on maintaining a sterile field, assisting the surgical crew, and performing counts pre- and intra-operatively to ensure patient safety.

Key requirements include a Scrub Technician program or equivalent education, High School diploma, and at least two years of OR scrub experience with orthopedic exposure.

Qualifications

• Completion of a Scrub Technician program and/or certification is preferred.
• Two years of Scrub Tech experience in multiple specialties or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have Orthopedic (Ortho) experience.
• Able to apply common sense to follow detailed written or oral instructions.
• Able to handle problems with a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
• General familiarity with medical terminology as it pertains to anatomy and OR procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure sterility of all supplies and instruments during setup.
• Assist circulating nurse and surgical team in maintaining a sterile environment.
• Assist in gathering supplies/equipment and perform counts pre-op and intra-op.
• Gown and glove surgeons and assistants.
• Maintain physician preference cards accuracy/updated.
• Retain specimens and confirm source/name with surgeon.
