Parkridge Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse Ortho to help evaluate patients pre-op, educate families, and support peri-operative care. The role emphasizes patient safety, evidence-based practice, and collaboration with surgeons and caregivers.

You will prep patients, manage IV therapy and preoperative meds, participate in time-outs and universal protocols, and respond to emergencies while documenting care plans and outcomes.

Qualifications

• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
• RN (Registered Nurse) credential.
• OR circulating experience REQUIRED! Ortho circulating experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients prior to surgery.
• Provide patient and family education surrounding the peri-operative process.
• Prepare patients for surgery, including IV therapy and preoperative medications.
• Participate in surgical site verification and universal protocols (briefing, time-out, debriefing).
• Recognize and respond to patient emergencies.
• Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care while following evidence-based practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Be part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team with providers, surgeons, technologists, and more.
• Document changes in patient condition and care provided thoroughly.
