Job summary

Frederick Health is seeking a part-time Medical Assistant for Orthopedics with Emergency Relief support at multiple locations in Frederick, MD. The MA will perform clinical duties, assist with examinations, record vital signs, and support physician extenders while maintaining patient flow and an accurate EHR.

Responsibilities include preparing treatment rooms, phlebotomy, injections, medication records, and patient education.

Qualifications

• Certified/Licensed MA preferred, CNA, EMT or LPN - Associates degree or higher in healthcare preferred.
• 1-2 years of experience in medical practice or clinical setting.
• CPR Certification.
• Computer skills preferably to include EMR, MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and record vital signs.
• Assist physicians during examinations and procedures.
• Document in the EHR clearly and accurately.
• Process prescription refills as instructed and update EHR.
• Educate patients and families on treatments, meds, and instructions.
• Maintain sterile fields and prepare treatment rooms.
