North American Dental Group’s Grove Dental Associates in Bolingbrook, IL is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant for a part-time role. You’ll provide chair-side clinical support, prepare patients and materials, and assist the orthodontist with treatment planning and procedures.

The schedule includes Mon Tue Thu from 8:30am–6:00pm, with pay $20.00–$25.00 per hour based on experience. Qualified candidates will have dental/ortho certification, radiography certification, CPR, and MS Office proficiency,

Qualifications

• Must have dental or ortho assisting certification or training.
• 1–5 years experience preferred; new grads welcome.
• Radiography/X-Ray certification (state-specific).
• Current CPR certification.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Commitment to delivering exceptional service and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Provide chair-side clinical support and patient education.
• Record and review patient health history and chart entries.
• Enter and update patient treatment plans as directed.
• Change/remove wires, brackets; take impressions and scans.
• Prepare treatment estimates for patient review.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments; maintain asepsis per OSHA.

Your Role as a Ortho Assistant

The Orthodontic Assistant partners with the practice team to provide excellent clinical support to help patients get the care they need. An orthodontic assistant prepares the patient for treatment and assists the Orthodontist by preparing materials and equipment for treatment for the Orthodontist use.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides excellent chair-side clinical support and assistance to doctors which includes but is not limited to charting, operatory set/clean up, and patient education.
• Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and assures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
• Enters and updates patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating doctor.
• Ability to change and remove wires, brackets, and adhesive, take impressions, take scans, prepare teeth for bonding
• Prepares treatment estimates for review and discussion with patient.
• Reviews the daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments.
• Prepares patient, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, maintains chain of asepsis, prepares materials, and assists dentist during dental procedures following OSHA guidelines.

What You’ll Need to Succeed

• Dental or Ortho Assisting Certification or prior on-the-job training.
• 1-5 years of experience preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
• Radiography/X-Ray certification (state-specific).
• Current CPR certification.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
