Job summary

North American Dental Group in Saint Petersburg, FL is seeking an Orthodontic Assistant for a Wednesdays-only schedule. You will provide clinical support to the orthodontist, prepare materials, and ensure efficient patient flow in a best-in-class care environment.

Responsibilities include chair-side assistance, patient education, reviewing health histories, updating treatment plans, taking impressions and scans, and maintaining sterile conditions per OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

  • 0-2 years' experience
  • State Licensure where specified
  • Valid Dental Radiographer License for state requirements
  • CPR Certification Required
  • Commitment to exceptional service, support, and education to patients

Responsibilities

  • Assist Orthodontist by preparing materials and equipment
  • Provide excellent chair-side clinical support and patient education
  • Record and review patient health history in dental software
  • Enter and update patient treatment plans
  • Change and remove wires, brackets, and adhesive; take impressions and scans
  • Prepare treatment estimates for review with patient
  • Prepare patients and sterilize instruments, maintain asepsis, assist during procedures following OSHA guidelines

Responsibilities

The Orthodontic Assistant partners with the practice team to provide excellent clinical support to help patients get the care they need. An orthodontic assistant prepares the patient for treatment and assists the Orthodontist by preparing materials and equipment for treatment for the Orthodontist use.

Skills Required to Make a Great "Impression" on Our Team
  • Provides excellent chair-side clinical support and assistance to doctors which includes but is not limited to charting, operatory set/clean up, and patient education.
  • Records and reviews patient health history, makes chart entries under the doctor's direction and assures completion of forms and signatures in dental software.
  • Enters and updates patient treatment plans at the direction of the treating doctor.
  • Ability to change and remove wires, brackets, and adhesive, take impressions, take scans, prepare teeth for bonding
  • Prepares treatment estimates for review and discussion with patient.
  • Reviews the daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments.
  • Prepares patient, sterilizes and disinfects instruments, sets up instrument trays, maintains chain of asepsis, prepares materials, and assists dentist during dental procedures following OSHA guidelines.
