  • Review reports, timesheets and logs for accuracy; maintain organized records per company procedures and client requirements.

Position Summary

In accordance with the rules and regulations of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the Supervisor oversees security officers performing safeguard services under CBP Form I-259. These services require escorting cruise line crewmembers who, upon resignation, termination, or suspension, forfeit their C1/D visa and must remain under continuous escort until their departure to a foreign country.

The Supervisor ensures all officers comply with DHS/CBP regulations, company policies, and operational procedures while maintaining professionalism and safety.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Supervisor is responsible for monitoring, supporting, and directing security officers assigned to safeguard services. Duties include but are not limited to:

Operational Oversight

  • Ensure security officers remain within ten (10) feet of their assigned crewmember at all times.
  • Verify officers escort the crewmember everywhere, without exception, and never leave them unattended.
  • Maintain compliance with DHS/CBP regulations and CBP Form I-259 requirements.
  • Provide guidance, direction, and corrective action when officers fail to follow proper procedures or instructions. All incidents must be reported immediately to Human Resources Manager and Management.
  • Coordinate assignments, shift coverage, and operational continuity across all posts.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and ensure officers are properly trained, uniformed, and prepared for duty.
  • Monitor officer attendance, punctuality, performance, and adherence to post orders.
  • Ensure all incidents, reports, inspections, and daily activities are properly documented and submitted on time.
  • Assist with training and ongoing development of security officers.
  • Ensure company policies, safety procedures, and client requirements are consistently followed.
  • Identify operational and risk issues and communicate recommendations to management.
  • Perform other supervisory and security-related duties as assigned.
Leadership & Communication
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between officers, management, cruise lines, and CBP personnel.
  • Lead by example and promote professional communication and encourage courtesy when officers interact with crewmembers.
  • Address and resolve operational issues in real time.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with officers, management and other stakeholders.
  • Build trust and maintain positive working relationships with the security team.
  • Provide clear direction, support, and feedback while encouraging accountability.
  • Remain calm, professional, and solution-focused when handling challenging situations.
  • Encourage teamwork, reliability, and a strong commitment to client services.
Documentation & Reporting
  • Review and ensure accurate completion of incident reports, timesheets, logs, and required documentation.
  • Review officer reports for accuracy, completeness, and professionalism.
  • Document incidents, attendance concerns, client requests, and other important operational matters.
  • Maintain clear and organized records in accordance with V.O.K Protective Services procedures.
  • Follow up on reports and documentation to ensure issues are properly addressed and close out.
  • Ensure all officers adhere to company and regulatory reporting standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior security, law enforcement, or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • U.S. citizen or legal resident alien.
  • Active Florida Security Officer License (Class D required; Class G preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of security operations, safety practices, and DHS/CBP escort requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively—verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand, implement, and enforce standard operating procedures.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to make sound, independent decisions within policy.
  • Professional demeanor, appearance, and conduct at all times.
