Job summary

Ardaman & Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Construction Materials Testing Department Manager for our Orlando, Florida office.

You will lead an established team providing testing, inspections, and QA services to diverse public and private clients in Central Florida. The role oversees daily operations, business development, and department profitability while upholding Ardaman's reputation for technical excellence and responsive service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering Technology, or related field.
• PE license preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated leadership, project management, supervisory, or team management experience.
• Familiarity with construction materials testing, special inspections, laboratory operations, or quality assurance programs.
• Experience working with public-sector and/or private-sector development and construction projects.
• Experience developing client relationships and supporting business development efforts preferred.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the Orlando CMT Department.
• Supervise and mentor technical, laboratory, and field personnel.
• Monitor staffing levels, workload distribution, utilization, and project schedules.
• Maintain and expand relationships with existing clients and public agencies.
• Prepare and review proposals, budgets, scopes of work, and contracts.
• Support business development activities and strategic growth initiatives.
• Oversee laboratory operations and quality management procedures.
• Review project reports, test results, and technical deliverables.
• Monitor department financial performance, including revenue, profitability, and accounts receivable.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, professionalism, and client service.
• Coordinate with geotechnical, environmental, and special inspection staff to provide integrated project solutions.
