Job Description:
Non-Destructive Test (NDT)/Quality Control (QC) inspector supporting the Orion manned space flight program in the Neil Armstrong Operations and Checkout Facility at Kennedy Space Center, Florida. The program is a fast-paced Manufacturing and Assembly, Test & Launch Operations(ATLO)environment.Inspectors will work with experienced Quality Engineering(QE)and NDT inspection teams collaborating with engineering and manufacturing support functions to ensure that product quality and acceptance requirements are met.Thisposition primarily performs nondestructive evaluation providing results and defect analysisincoordination with otherOrion ATLOoperational and engineering groups.
This positionprefersinspectors with prior NAS410 Level 2 or 3 certificationsin multiple methods.Inspector’sduties includecomprehensive interpretation and application oftechnical procedures & working instructions providing written reports of acceptance/rejection/evaluation results of Orion Space Systems hardware to various engineering support groups. Inspectors also review and/or approve inspection records for adequacy and compliance to procedures and quality standards.
Allinspectorsmust be able to workeffectively in a team environment orindependentlyas required. Inspectorswill be expected to support program inspections during off-shiftsand on shortnotice to support ATLO program needs and schedules.Inspectors also investigateinstances of nonconforming materials,facilitate the determination of root cause, corrective/preventative actions, and provide recommendation of disposition for Material Review Board (MRB) action.
