Job summary

Monetary Metals seeks a Financial Analyst, Origination to support evaluation, structuring, and monitoring of gold and silver lease and lending transactions, assessing counterparty credit and risk in physical metals markets.

This flexible/remote, full-time role involves collaboration with senior credit professionals and travel; preference for New York, Toronto, or London, and reports to the Chief Revenue Officer.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of progressive financial analysis experience, with exposure to mining finance or metals.
• Ability to build and interpret three-statement models and project-level cash flows.
• Experience writing credit analyses or investment memoranda for senior review.
• Strong Excel-based modelling skills.
• Undergraduate degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related field.
• CFA charter holder or CFA candidate (Level II or III) preferred.
• Direct experience with lease financing and lending preferred.
• Exposure to frontier or emerging market credit analysis is a strong asset.

Responsibilities

• Conduct financial due diligence and credit analysis on prospective counterparties across the Origination book.
• Analyze audited and management financial statements with emphasis on working capital, inventory financing, liquidity, leverage, and debt service capacity.
• Evaluate collateral structures including warehouse receipts, metal pledges, and guarantees.
• Model repayment capacity in cash and/or metal ounces using lease-rate-adjusted cash flows and stressed metal price scenarios.
• Collaborate with senior Origination professionals to develop and stress-test transaction structures, including lease rates, loan-to-value ratios, and covenants.
• Support legal and compliance teams in reviewing transaction documentation and ensuring accurate financial representations in credit agreements.
• Maintain and update the origination pipeline database and prepare materials for management presentations.
