Job summary

Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) seeks a Sr Coordinator for Orientation Programs to lead staff recruitment, training, and evaluation within the Orientation and Transition Programs team. The role supports Admissions recruitment, operations, and yield efforts with a strong emphasis on student development and leadership.

The position is primarily in-person with a hybrid option, requiring evenings and weekends for staff training and events; salary up to $55,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in higher education.
• Experience in higher education and graduate staff supervision.
• Strong written and verbal communication, public speaking skills.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to work evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee recruitment, selection, onboarding for Orientation Leaders and staff.
• Direct supervision and evaluation of up to 50 student staff and interns.
• Design training curriculum for leadership, facilitation, and safety.
• Plan and staff orientation programs and community events.
• Assist with admission-related recruitment and yield activities.
• Develop content for web and office communications.
• Serve as Social Media Administrator for the office.
