Virginia Commonwealth University is hiring an Assistant Director for Leadership and Engagement in Residential Life & Housing. The role leads leadership development, coordinates large-scale programs, and engages nearly 6,000 on-campus residents.

The position oversees a full-time coordinator, develops RAM Camp, advises student orgs, and reports to the Director of Residential Initiatives. Hybrid work is offered with a strong emphasis on collaboration and inclusion.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree required in Student Personnel, Higher Education, Counseling or related field.
• Four or more years professional experience in residential life/housing or student affairs.
• Experience designing, implementing and assessing leadership development programs and large-scale student engagement.

Responsibilities

• Oversee leadership development programs and large-scale residential programming.
• Provide advisement for student organizations (RHA/NRHH).
• Lead RAM Camp and early-arrival programming for first-year residents.
• Supervise and mentor a coordinator to ensure program success.
