Job summary

Lincoln Intermediate Unit 12 is seeking an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to teach visually impaired students to enter any environment and function safely and independently.

The role follows the traditional school year schedule, is full-time (190 days/year), and offers comprehensive benefits including health, life insurance, EAP, PTO, and retirement via PSERS.

Qualifications

  • Must hold a current credential as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist issued by ACVREP or NBPCB and maintain certification for position.
  • Bachelor's degree minimum; Masters degree with 44 credits qualifies for higher placement.
  • Higher placement available for Master's Degrees with 45+ credits.

Description:

To teach visually impaired students those skills which will enable them to enter any environment, familiar or unfamiliar, and function safely, efficiently, gracefully, and independently.

Qualifications:
  • Must hold a current credential as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist issued by the Academy for Certification of Vision Rehabilitation and Education Professionals (ACVREP) or the National Orientation and Mobility Certification (NOMC) issued by the National Blindness Professional Certification Board (NBPCB), and maintain certification for position.
Terms of Employment:

Full-time, 190 days/year (follows the traditional school year schedule)

Salary:
  • Bachelors Degree starting minimum: $62,011.15+ plus excellent benefits
  • Masters Degree (up to 44 credits) starting at$66,511.15+ plus excellent benefits
  • Higher placement available for Master's Degrees with 45+ credits
