Job summary

Qualifications

• BS degree in Chemistry or related field.
• Experience with solvent extraction techniques.
• Experience with EPA, OSHA, NIOSH, ASTM preparation and analysis methods and protocols.
• Strong MS Office applications experience.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
• Good organizational skills and ability to perform multiple tasks.
• Experience with GC-FID, GC-ECD, GC-MS, FTIR or HPLC is a plus.
• Instrument maintenance and repair experience is a plus.
• May require working after normal business hours.

Responsibilities

• The Technician will be involved in every aspect of operation of the organic chemistry department including sample preparation, sample analysis, method development, data quality review, training personnel, maintaining instrumentation, etc.
• Major responsibilities include preparation and analysis of extracted samples and matrices such as organic based matrices, minerals and raw products, environmental and industrial hygiene samples.
