Job summary

RJ Lee Group Inc. seeks an Analyst II in the Inorganic Chemistry Department to perform technical testing and analytical procedures with moderate supervision. The role requires working knowledge of lab protocols, data analysis, and instrument operation.

You will operate and maintain instruments, interpret data, ensure QA/QC compliance, and mentor junior staff while contributing to audits and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of laboratory experience in a technical or analytical environment.
• Prior experience operating laboratory instruments and interpreting basic data sets.
• Strong understanding of laboratory procedures and safety practices.
• Ability to follow SOPs and regulatory methods (e.g., NIOSH, ASTM, EPA).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools; experience with LIMS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct intermediate-level sample preparation and analysis using standard methods (e.g., USP, FCC, EPA, ASTM, NIOSH methods).
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instrumentation with minimal supervision (e.g., balance, auto titrator, LECO TGA, CVAA).
• Analyze and interpret data; report findings with attention to accuracy and compliance.
• Identify deviations from expected results or instrumentation issues and escalates appropriately.
• Assist in troubleshooting routine equipment malfunctions or analytical anomalies.
• Maintain accurate and complete documentation per SOPs and QA/QC requirements.
• Adhere to all laboratory safety procedures and contribute to safe lab practices.
• Mentor and provide guidance to entry-level (Analyst I or Technician) staff.
• Participate in audits, quality reviews, and internal improvement initiatives.
• Makes routine technical decisions within standard procedures.
• Refers complex or non-conforming issues to supervisor or senior staff.
• Applies judgment to troubleshoot analytical issues and ensure accurate results.
• May assist in refining procedures or improving efficiency within the lab.
