Job summary

Gift of Life Michigan is seeking a Manager, Organ Services to lead organ services staff, shape department goals, and oversee donor evaluation, retrieval, and logistics. You will ensure regulatory compliance, drive best practices, and coordinate with Performance Improvement to analyze key metrics.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree with extensive critical care or OPO experience and prior management experience; a master’s degree and CPTC certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 8–10 years of critical care or clinical organ procurement experience, or 10+ years combined.
• At least one year’s experience in a management or leadership role.
• Master’s degree in related field preferred (nursing, science, business, or management) with 8–10 years of critical care or OPO experience.
• Certified Procurement Transplant Coordinator (CPTC) or plan to obtain within 12 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies and develop evidence-based best practice standards.
• Maintain expertise in on-site organ and tissue donor evaluation, retrieval, and transport logistics.
• Respond to potential donor referrals for evaluation of staff performance.
• Collaborate with Performance Improvement to collect and analyze organ services data.
• Direct and oversee day-to-day work of direct reports and provide coaching and performance feedback.
• Support department goals and contribute to a healthy, safe work environment.
