Qualified candidates typically hold a Bachelor's or Master’s in a healthcare field with 1–2 years in acute care, hospice, bereavement, or crisis intervention;

Responsibilities

About the Role

The Organ Family Services Coordinator 1 (OFSC 1) supports Infinite Legacy's mission by engaging families in discussions about organ donation. This position plays a pivotal role in securing authorization for organ donation through skilled, ethical, and empathetic conversations while partnering closely with the Aftercare team.

Responsibilities

• Responds promptly to donor referrals, leading families through donation discussions with compassion, professionalism, and integrity.
• Establishes initial contact with the potential donor family and advocates for organ and tissue donation.
• Works collaboratively with hospital partners to strengthen trust and maintain relationships.
• Ensures the family's understanding and comfort throughout the authorization process.
• Partners with the Aftercare team to ensure seamless transition and ongoing support for donor families.
• Engages in ongoing education, simulation training, and skill development.
• Completes all necessary documentation within the timeframes established by Infinite Legacy.
• Collaborates closely with clinical personnel during donor management.
• Initiates follow-up support to donor and non-donor families when appropriate.
• Attends regularly scheduled Infinite Legacy staff meetings and responds to emails within 24 hours.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's degree in nursing, social work, psychology, counseling, or related healthcare field preferred; equivalent clinical or counseling experience considered. 1-2 years' experience in an acute health care setting (preferred), hospice, bereavement counseling center, crisis intervention, etc.

• Ability to travel throughout Infinite Legacy's Donor Services Area.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in bereavement counseling or crisis intervention.
• Familiarity with grief and loss issues.
